The Glow Study

Privacy

We have no accounts, no logins and no newsletter, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing of yours to lose. Two analytics tools run on this site, and the hosting provider sees requests. That is the whole list.

What runs on this site

Google Analytics 4 records which pages are read, roughly where readers are, and how they arrived. It sets cookies and sends that data to Google.

Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays and heatmaps — scrolling, clicks, where people stop reading — so we can tell which articles lose people and where. It also sets cookies.

Cloudflare serves the site and sees the requests that reach it, including IP addresses, as any host does.

What we don't do

We don't sell data, run advertising networks, or operate a mailing list. We don't ask for your name or email anywhere on this site. If you write to us, we have your email because you sent it, and we use it to reply.

Turning it off

Browser-level tracking protection and any mainstream content blocker stop both analytics tools. Nothing on this site breaks when they are blocked — there is no feature behind them. Google's own opt-out is available as a browser add-on.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected]. In practice we hold almost nothing that identifies you — the analytics data sits with Google and Microsoft, and their own controls govern it.
